Fern Paquet Jr. was on fire this afternoon with 4 winning drives, the streak started right off in the first race aboard Weslynn Crown in 2:01.4 – $10.40. He came back and won races 3 & 4, Bucketlist Hanover 2:02.4 – $7.50 notched his seventh won on the year for trainer Elisha Lafreniere. Next up was Arnies Angel in 1:59 – $5.20 the Randy Taft trained Sweet Sally Sue, a 3 length winner in 1:57 – $7.40.

The afternoons featured race was the $8,800 Open for Fillies and Mares, it was a short field of 6 with the heavy favorite Abby Rose hailing from post 6. As the gate left, she slowly floated out of there and found a 3 hole tuck while Perfect Queen (B. Aldrich Jr.) cut the mile with splits of 28.4, 57.4. Before the 5/8 marker Mike Merton tipped Abby Rose to the outside and came first over, she was even with Perfect Queen in 1:26.2, these 2 went head to head the entire stretch in a hard fought battle, but Abby Rose prevailed by a scant neck in 1:55.4 – $ 3.30, Proudamericangirl (K. Dibenedetto) finished third. For Abby Rose it was her third consecutive win in the open ranks, eight win on the year, she is trained by Randy Taft

For the fifth time this season, Caroline James 1:58.2 – $18.20 entered the winners circle with Shane Taggart in the bike for owner Gary Haas of Bloomingburg, NY.

Trainers Elisha Lafreniere and Randy Taft each recorded training doubles on the card.
