So-Rock-N-Roll

Well, It was good while it lasted, it might be a while until we see So Rock N Roll again at Monticello, this afternoon So Rock N Roll (M. Sowers) continued his dominance over the best pacers on the grounds, he won his third consecutive win in the Open Class, he has now strung together an impressive 6 race win streak.  In typical fashion he sat near the back of the back starting from post position 8 while Some Deal Hanover set the tempo with splits of 28, 57.3. Sitting 6th at the half, he got underway down the backside and started taking some Catskill Mountain air, at the next station in 1:26.1 he was 3 deep and flying.  Turning for home he was third with a full head of steam and handily dispatched his foes to score in 1:55.2 – $7.20, Finishing second was the 21/1 Beebeetee (Paquet Jr.) followed by the mare Perfect Queen (T. Merton).  The offspring of Western Maverick is trained by Benson Merrill. It was one of 2 winning drives on the card for McGwire Sowers, his other win was aboard Lindas In Heaven 1:56 – $12.40, for owner Autym Robinson.

AE Hazels Luck (T. Merton) tied her lifetime mark in 1:59.4 – $28.60 for trainer Troy Rossi and owners AST Racing & The Ocean Mist Farm.
